Road Tax & Registration
100% waiver on road tax for all EVs, in effect under the Maharashtra EV Policy 2025-2030 (April 1, 2025 - March 31, 2030). Registration fee also gets a 100% waiver.
Purchase Subsidy
- Two-wheelers: 10% of ex-factory price, limited to the first 1,00,000 vehicles (first-come, first-served) — check whether the cap has been reached before assuming eligibility.
- Four-wheelers (private buyers): No purchase subsidy currently available — this is a change from the prior policy.
- Four-wheelers (commercial/taxi use): Rs 1.5-2.0 lakh per vehicle, capped at approximately 25,000 vehicles.
- Electric buses: Up to Rs 20 lakh per bus, for up to 1,500 buses.
Other Incentives
- 100% toll waiver for EVs on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and the Samruddhi Mahamarg (Nagpur-Mumbai).
Policy History
Maharashtra's 2025-2030 policy notably removed the private four-wheeler purchase subsidy that existed under earlier policy versions, while keeping the road tax waiver in place.
